The Lifelong Dance Student is where I record my exploits in learning dance as an adult, hopefully encouraging other adults who decided to return to dance as adults or have just started learning from scratch.

My dad was a maker of dance shoes (ballroom, ballet, jazz) and had lots of links with the local dance schools, but I wasn’t interested in going to classes as a child, preferring to do my own thing (my brief experiences of try-out classes weren’t encouraging).

I started learning for fun as a young adult; first with Street Jazz and general Street/Hip Hop, followed by Contemporary and Jazz. Now I am focusing on Ballet and Tap, the ones I was most daunted by, but fell in love with!

Hope you enjoy!
